There are a number of serious problems with this clinic. I have been going there for years but am in a process of changing because I am fed up with the level of service. Here are the problems
1. Billing - there are errors on bills everytime they send a bill
2. Administrative - they do not update insurace information. I started making copies of my insurance card and having them sign it and date it that the information was received. At least I have a proof (perhaps for my own satisfaction only) because they still do not update it.
3. Filling out health forms - they loose forms, and need several reminders that the form need to be filled out.
4. Professional care - probably the best part of the clinic. But you can get that at other places as well.

Overall, the clinic is probably a good choice for low income, not-service oriented customers. I am mentioning low income because these people may have some sort of a governemnt insurance and not care about billing. For the rest of the world, this clinic is a NIGHTMARE.
Avoid like a bad desease!

Smileys Clinic University of Minnesota Physicians is such a great place to see the doctors!The location is great~connected to the UM!! And I have never had a long wait and the doctors are very nice~take time to tend to your needs and listen!!

First of all, it's location is convenient for me. I can just take two hours off and go there, don't need to waste a whole morning or afternoon.
They have very friendly doctors and nurses, and they are knowledgeable. So I feel realxed and get to learn something every time I went there.
The waiting time is OK. They decorated their waiting area so you don't feel too bored while waiting.

CONS:

I love this clinic because I don't have to park in a huge garage or take an elevator to see my doctor. Smiley's is great because they're linked to the U of M (if you need specialized treatments), but they're independent and seem to have everything I've ever needed right there. I usually do not have to wait more than 5 minutes before getting in to see my doctor, and my doctor is now my favorite - she's smart, listens to me, and explains everything very well. I love this clinic.
